Hackney Garden Centre Sign

Living Windows

I was tasked with creating a hand-painted sign for a garden centre in Hackney. To stay true to the company's requests I incorporated a bright colour scheme and drew expressive flowers. My goal was to make the sign both visually appealing and easy to understand.

Design Approach

I collected the client's resources, like logos, colours, and typography, to use as a basis for the sign's design. I created various style concepts that incorporated their existing branding and presented them to the client, offering a range of options that respected their preferences while including my own ideas for artwork and colours.

Artwork & Colour Selection

With the client's preference for bright pink or yellow, I curated floral pieces that perfectly matched these vibrant hues. By incorporating a variety of flower shapes and sizes, I created an aesthetically pleasing arrangement. To ensure harmony with the client's branding, I incorporated elements inspired by their logo and typography.

Final Design

Taking into account the client's feedback and preferences, I refined the selected concept and created the final hand-painted sign design. The sign incorporated vibrant floral artwork, carefully balanced with the client's branding elements. The text was strategically placed to maximize readability and ensure the sign effectively conveyed the desired message.
